"Plan your wedding day effectively"
Successfully completing a Bridal assignment is a big task in
itself. Many people while reading this may feel what is so difficult to do a
hair and make-up? But read entire blog and you will find answers to many
questions - raised or not raised in your mind... If you are a would be bride,
this might help you...
- The biggest challenge for Indian traditional wedding is time, space, lighting in the room and proper event planning. Choose a room which has enough day light, non tinted glass. It should have a good quality mirror and a chair with enough height and good back rest as it helps the bride and makeup artist both.
- Most of the weddings or prior functions like haldi, Engagement (if planned on the same day) NEVER – EVER start on time. They are always delayed by an hour or two hours.
We at Impression Makeup Studio, give a complete day plan to the
bride when they come for prior consultation or booking.
(1) Planning to go as a reverse calculation – For eg – If
the wedding muhurat (auspicious time)is at 12.30pm then her vidhis (ceremonies)
will / might start somewhere at 9am/9.30am in the morning and end by 11.15am /
11.30am.
(4) Then the bride gets a chance to relax or to change her
saree (optional. Not in all weddings.) If she wants a make-up touch up (Again
optional. As, if the make is waterproof and long lasting, even a touch up is
not needed.) Hairstyle change (Again optional as there is hardly any time left
to remove earlier hairdo and change into a completely new hairstyle.)
(5) Here if the break is 45 minutes then the bride hardly
gets time to change her look completely. Point to drive here is – if we have to
create proper makeover with a change in entire hair, make-up and draping then
one good makeup artist at least needs 90 minutes to 120 minutes to pre-cleanse
and redo entire look.
(6) For any in between changes of saree, few changes in hair
and makeup touch up it requires atleast 30 to 45 minutes depending upon what kind of saree is draped? What all
changes in hair style are required? Amount of jwellery to be removed and
replaced. So consider timings for all functions well in advance.
(7) As initially explained in the example. If the bride has
to be ready by 9 am/ 9.30am. makeup artist has to start by 7am at least to
finish by 9am. 2 hours considering - hair prep, good skin cleansing, dress
change, some in between small time slots
for brides to get accustomed to her contact lenses, lashes, heavy head
gears / dupattas, nail paint application if any etc... or any unseen unexpected
tiny little things to be completed.
Also, minimum 30 minutes should
be given to the photographer for a good pre-bridal shoot.
(8) Seeping in time - I personally feel, Makeup definitely
requires a Physcological and a Physiological time to " seep in" -
in layman's language - " to set the makeup".
Makeup sets well after an hour over the skin and bride too needs time to
mentally get adjusted to the entire new look which she never had before.
Therefore, proper time must be allotted for pre-bridal shoot, just after the
final Bridal make-up. It allows her to have a look at herself and get
comfortable in that mesmerizing, first ever, so called... "Bridal makeover" ...
💎If the bride has to wear
a Dupatta covering her head then her few pictures before dupatta fixing are
must.
(9) In few communities bride and groom wear headgear like in
Bengali, Maharashtrian, Punjabi weddings. Then it’s important to do a shoot of
both bride and groom separately as well as together. Before head gear and after
fixing that head gear.
(10) For the hairstyle to stay long - Avoid usage of hair
conditioners and serums without asking your hairstylist what is their
preference. Sometimes excess of it ruins the prep of any hairdo.
(11) Last but not the least- create a day plan of all your
events in writting, organize all things well before, carry good quality makeup
or haldi cleansers, wet wipes, dry tissues with you. Discuss your makeup and
hair priorities and choices with the artist before.
Have an exceptional wedding experience...
Look great, feel great!!!
Wishing you all Happy times ahead...
